I’ve been a member of MyPoints for over four years now. As you can see from my earnings chart below, I just love MyPoints! Three days ago I redeemed 3,500 points for a $25 Kmart gift card (to go towards a Kenmore blender I’ve had my eyes on!)
What is MyPoints? MyPoints is a reward program where you can redeem earned points for gift certificates, gift cards, and even charitable donations to the Red Cross. There are many ways that you can earn points. The primary way that you earn rewards at MyPoints is by shopping through their merchant store links. The points you can earn vary from store to store….for example, while you can earn 2 points for every $1 spent at Kohls, you can earn 10 points for every $1 spent at Barnes & Noble. You can get higher point earnings when you complete a sign up offer. One great sign up offer they’ve had for some time is earning 1,000 points for joining Netflix or 5,000 when signing up for DirecTV.
Another fantastic way to earn points is to print your grocery coupons at MyPoints. For each coupon that you print and redeem, you’ll earn 10 points. You can earn 25 bonus points if you redeem 10 or more coupons in a month. PLUS, everytime that you print or redeem a coupon, you’ll be entered in their weekly $200 gift card drawing.
However, the easiest way to rack up points is by electing to receive MyPoints emails. MyPoints will highlight point-earning opportunities in these emails and you’ll receive 5 points (sometimes higher) for every email you click through. I get many of my points this way, in addition to completing MyPoints surveys. They also recently launched the MyPoints toolbar where you can earn up to 50 extra points a month just for searching. The toolbar also keeps you up to speed on the latest MyPoints offers and how many points you have accrued. As you can see, the points can and DO add up fast
My frugal friends, there are many reward sites out there for you to choose from. Trust me, MyPoints is one of the good ones and has earned my seal of approval.
