Welcome to Frugal Shopping With Julie and thanks for stopping by! I’m Julie and I’m living the frugal life in beautiful East Tennessee, with my husband, David, and our two dogs, Ridley and Cassie…. yes, the very two Coupon Clipping Canines you see featured on this site!

Born and raised in Nebraska, I come from a large family (8 children) and learned rather quickly that money did not grow on trees. My mother was thrifty out of necessity and knew how to stretch a dollar. She shopped for items on sale, bought in bulk, and clipped, clipped, clipped those coupons! I guess you could say I learned from the Master of Frugal…and I’m proud of it. To this day I’ll find myself standing in a grocery store aisle with my mother’s words coming out of my mouth…. “There’s no way I’m paying that!” Yes, I’ve even said it out loud and have received looks from fellow shoppers. My mother rarely paid full retail price for anything… and you don’t have to either.

I love finding great bargains and sharing all the latest coupons, online bargains, and money-saving resources. There is an art to couponing and frugal living, but with a little time and effort, you can learn to live well on a budget and save money for other things. I’d love to share deals & tips with you.

When I’m not scouting for the best deals, I enjoy spending time outdoors. Camping and hiking are just two of my favorite things. I’ve worked in human services my entire life and also have a great love for animals. I’m an advocate for animals who have no voice. Please, never pity a shelter or rescue dog…. adopt one.  You’ll often hear me talking about ways that you can help animals and others through the use of coupons.  I was recently featured on All You magazine’s list of charitable bloggers and love how we all have the opportunity to save and give at the same time.
